Religious Worship

Christian worship in Bucknell & Bedstone has long been a feature of the local community.  Today there are three dedicated buildings in the civil parish.  Two of them are Anglican: St Mary’s Parish Church in Bucknell and its sister church (also St Mary’s) in Bedstone. The third is Coxall Baptist Chapel on the B4367 linking the two villages.

The two Anglican churches are in the Diocese of Hereford (www.hereford.anglican.org) and in the Deanery of Clun Forest.  Both are of ancient foundation; both are called St Mary’s. They form part of the same Benefice: Bedstone, Bucknell, Chapel Lawn, Clungunford, Hopton Castle, Llanfair Waterdine and Stowe.

Coxall Baptist Church came into existence in 1871 and today serves a small but dedicated congregation.
